Reflection Effect – Tutorial

This is easy. Just read the whole tutorial and surely you’ll be able to do this effect with a breeze. :D

1. Open the image with Adobe Photoshop. I’m using CS2 right now.
(Any versions will do.)

2. Make a new canvass. File>New or just hit CTRL+N on your keyboards. (The size of the canvass should be bigger than the image to be used; anyways we can crop the canvass later).

3. Drag the image into the blank canvass. As show below.

4. Go to Image>Duplicate on the Menu Bar or simple hit CTRL+J on your keyboards.

Notice that on the LAYERS tab a new layer was created (This is the duplicated layer of the image).

5. Now go to Edit>Transform>Flip Vertical.

Notice that the image was flipped vertically.

Drag the image on the bottom of the first image.

6. Now the final part. On the Tools, click on the Eraser Tool.

Be sure that you are using the default set of brushes. Use the circled brush with vanishing edges. The size of the brush to use depends on your personal preference. :D

Just smoothly drag the mouse back and forth on the flipped image until the desired reflection effect is attained.

Save your work and that’s it! Enjoy! :D
